I purchased these in anticipation of my 8 month old 38 lb basset hound puppy's first heat. I purchased a size large as her waist was about the right size for the smallest fit and I'm hoping to use these over her next couple cycles until her spay. I chose this brand due to the generous thigh measurements as basset hound legs are short, but chunky.Pros:The designs are so adorable in person. Secure hook and loop material makes it easy to put on even if your dog doesn't stay still. The hardest part of getting it on was putting enough of her tail through before she was wriggling away. It was stretchy and flexible enough to fit comfortably and adjust quickly.Cons:My puppy did not love wearing these. She just freezes up and won't move. I want to work on desensitization with her with the diapers before her next cycle. So, we only used these at night, and they would come off about a third of the time during normal sleep activity. I think this was because her thigh/knee position would pull it down. I'm up as she's sleeping and when she would change position it would slowly scoot down her back. She did not intentionally scoot it off. When she laid straight back, the waist strap would slide down her thigh leaving only the hook points. I included a picture where this is happening.Overall:I was impressed that these fit when almost every other brand I looked at didn't accommodate large thigh dogs according to listed measurements. In my third image you can see her waist to thigh ratio is perfect for her (18" to 15"), but not for diaper sizing. Due to this, I think adding a secondary attachment point would help with my pup's personal size and I might try it during her next heat. Secondly, the diapers did not leak. My pup only bled in in the diaper, so I can't give feedback on anything other than a heat.5 stars for being everything it should be! I am sure some dogs (like mine) could benefit from personalized adjustments, but that's often true with sizing.
