My 2.5 year-old GSD goes swimming in our backyard pool every day, but no amount of towels ever seem to get her thick, double coat dry. I bought this (XXXL Microfiber) to put on her after towel-drying to prevent the furniture from getting soaked — and it works great! I take it off after an hour or two and she is almost completely dry afterwards. After hanging it up to dry, it’s ready for use again the next day.I did have some sizing issues. My 85lb pup would have been an XL or XXL if I went by the chart, but based on other reviews, I sized up to an XXXL. This seems perfect to me. It covers her body well and doesn’t drag on the ground, and I would rather it be a little big than too small.The coat itself seems well made and I’ve had no issues with the stitching or material. My one complaint is that the hood/front “collar” could be a bit tighter. Right now, when my pup walks into a cabinet knob, it will often get caught and undo the velcro closure. Not a huge dealbreaker, though. One handy feature is the “loop” of fabric near the very top of the coat, which gives you a perfect way to hang the coat up.All in all, I would very much recommend this product. I am unsure how well it works if you don’t towel dry your dog first, and I imagine that depends on how thick your dog’s fur is. My pup is absolutely DRIPPING and soaked when she gets out of the water, and I think this coat would just get soaked through if I put it on her without towel drying first. It may be okay with shorter-haired dogs, but I would recommend at least giving them a quick rub-down with a towel before putting this on. Keep in mind that, if you dog isn’t used to wearing things like this, they may not tolerate it’s use. My dog was very upset the first few days that she couldn’t properly shake dry while wearing this, but she’s accustomed to it now.
